Gorillaz will be at the Frank Erwin Center on October 22. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 13 at 10:00 AM.

 

 

According to Interpol's website, they will  be playing at Stubb's on October 28. Ticket information will be coming soon.

Major Lazer is the side project of two of the best DJ/Producers out right now - Diplo and Switch. They have both teamed up to put together this fictitious cartoon character (similar to Gorillaz) named Major Lazer, who fought as a Jamaican commando in a highly classified Zombie War in 1984. This happens to be where he lost his right arm. ML currently fights off vampires and monsters, parties hard, and has a rocket launcher as a replacement for his severed arm. A new EP of remixes just came out for Major Lazer entitled Lazers Never Die, and this where you will find today's catch. "Jump Up" is remixed by Thom Yorke who met with Diplo earlier this year to express his interest in working with the song. Now if I'm not mistaken, you can hear just a tad of "Idioteque" from one of Radiohead's earlier album. You can judge for yourself ...

So I happen to notice that there are quite a few bands called Aeroplane when looking for the bands official website. The only one I am familiar with is the electronic DJ duo from Belgium that we play quite often on Chillville. Today's catch is a new tune from the band called "I Crave Paris". I'm going to try and give you the skinny on today's catch without confusing you like Christopher Nolan's Inception (which was a fantastic movie btw). Aeroplane remixed my #1 Chillville song of 2009 - Friendly Fires' "Paris". They removed the original band's male vocals, and turned up the volume on the female vocals, which happened to come from another Chillville band - Au Revoir Simone. The background electronics and infectious beat made it one step better than the original. Now Aeroplane went ahead and stripped out Au Revoir Simone's vocals, kept the instrumental & beats, and ...

So today's little gem comes from alternative hip-hop musicians, N.E.R.D. Pharrell and the gang are back on the scene with a new single, and are in the midst of unveiling their latest album, Nothing, on September 7. The one thing that really caught my attention about this track is actually the remixes that were released after the original. Today's catch is the Yeasayer remix of "Hot-N-Fun", which features Nelly Furtado on vocals. You can listen to a clip of today's catch in the player above.

 

Now if you just can't get enough of Pharrell, then check out the music on the newest computer animated film, Despicable Me. Not only did the frontman for N.E.R.D contribute original songs for the movie, but he also was the main force behind the score. Check it out when you get a chance. Enjoy!

I want to introduce you to this hot artists named Uffie - Uffie, meet the residents of Chillville. This 22 year old was born in Miami, grew up in Honk Kong, and now resides in France where she has made a name for herself with a music style of her own. There's not a lot of female artists who can say they have a sound made up of the electronic, pop, hip-hop, disco, and rap genres. Now you may have heard her voice on Chillville before as the vocalist for Justice's "TTHHEE PPAARRTTYY". Well, it's her turn in the spotlight with the release of her debut album entitled Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans. Today's catch is the extremely fun "ADD SUV" featuring Pharrell (from N.E.R.D.).
